Nasty cold weather is expected tonight and tomorrow night with temps dropping to 30-below but that's not even close to setting the record. The coldest day ever in Rochester was on January 7th, 1887 when the temp fell to 42-below zero. Think about that - that's 74-degrees below freezing!

The National Weather Service is warning the week ahead "could be a life-threatening period!" The NWS posted this update to their Facebook: "DANGEROUSLY cold air will grip the region from Tuesday into Friday. Wind chill values of 45 to 60 below are expected with Wednesday morning being the coldest and a Wind Chill Watch has been issued. PLEASE TAKE THIS COLD OUTBREAK SERIOUSLY."
