Tax Filing Crooks Reported in Olmsted County

It’s that time of the year. The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Department has received some recent phone calls from residents who have become victims of income tax fraud.

 A spokesman says the victims filed for refunds only to learn some criminals had used their personal information to file earlier. This type of criminal activity has become more common in recent years.

Any other victims are asked to contact law enforcement as soon as possible.
