Stunts Will Catch Some Air at Steele County Fair Grandstand
If you love stunts, and maybe don't mind getting damp, head over to the Grandstand at the Steele County Free Fair today for two shows from ATV Big Air Tour.
The family friendly event is a freestyle extreme sports show that features ATVs flying three stories high, motorcycle backflips and the mega jump BMX team. The group is based in Wabasso, Minnesota, and this is their second year on tour. But they're no newcomers to performing, tour staffer Shannon Larkin says brothers Jon and Derek Guetter have been performing across the globe for more than 10 years.
In addition to watching the thrilling stunts, audience members will receive a free autograph card and are welcome to meet the riders after the show. The staff also say free prizes will be given out throughout the show.
Some fun facts:
- Jon Guetter is the first person in the world to successfully land an ATV backflip, and was featured on the Discovery Channel's Stunt Junkies in 2005 as he successfully backflipped an ATV over a moving train.
- Derek Guetter was the stunt double for Zac Efron and Adam Devine in the 2016 movie Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates.
- Motorcycle rider Rich Kearns was featured in Nitro Circus Live and the "This is How We Roll" music video from Florida Georgia Line.
Shows are at 2PM and 7:30PM today (8/16). Tickets for the 60-minute matinee show are $5 for kids and $10 for adults; tickets for the evening show are $10 for kids and $15 for adults.
After the team leaves Owatonna, they head for a few shows in Michigan and California to end the summer tour.
