Stone Sour Unveil Acoustic Version of ‘Song #3′
Stone Sour's "Song #3," off their new album, Hydrograd, is enjoying a third straight week at No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock chart, and the band has just released an official version of the track.
The video is perfectly suited for an acoustic version of the song. It shows frontman Corey Taylor in a studio singing the song in black and white, displaying how well the song translates to a stripped-down version. Drum and guitar work still hit hard but in a different way, letting the song reach a fiery timbre.
It's a good follow up to the band's recent video that they released earlier this week. For "Somebody Stole My Eyes," they concocted a 360 degree video, each member in a different position around the room, all playing their asses off.
It's been a busy year for the band already, having released Hydrograd just last Friday, June 30. We recently caught the band playing to a sold out, intimate crowd at Los Angeles' Troubadour for their album release party. They played a killer, 18-song setlist that spanned the band's entire career, for a show no one in attendance would forget.
In funnier news, last week Taylor was caught in Idaho addressing the crowd by the wrong state, while on tour with Stone Sour supporting Korn. “I tell you what, I just made Islander and Korn look really good tonight,” Taylor joked after realizing his goof.
