Stewartville Man Suffers Serious Arm Injury In Crash
Stewartville, MN (KROC AM News) - Alcohol was apparently involved in a crash in Stewartville that injured two people, including one who suffered a serious arm injury.
Olmsted County Sheriff’s Capt. Jim Schueller says the accident involved a UTV (utility terrain vehicle) that crashed around 3:00 pm Friday at the intersection of 1st St and 4th Ave SE.
Schueller says the UTV was driven by 36-year-old Jeremy Morrison of Stewartville. Schueller says Morrison apparently ran a stop sign and then had to swerve to avoid colliding with a vehicle and crashed. The UTV ended up on its side and Morrison’s left arm was pinned under the vehicle.
Schueller says Morrison suffered a “substantial injury” to his arm and was taken to the hospital to undergo surgery. A female passenger suffered minor injuries in the crash.
Schueller says open containers of alcohol were found at the scene of the crash and a blood sample was taken from Morrison to determine if he had been drinking.
Schueller also said it is illegal to operate a UTV in Stewartville.
