Lake Crystal, MN (KROC-AM News) - An early-morning traffic crash near Mankato has claimed the life of a teenage girl.
A news release issued by the Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office says 17-year-old Madison Kay Johnson of Lake Crystal was driving a car on a rural highway just east of the south-central Minnesota town when the crash occurred around 2:30 AM.
The Sheriff's Office says the initial investigation indicates the vehicle was traveling west when it went off the roadway and crashed into a utility pole on the driver's side of the car. Johnson was alone in the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Minnesota State Patrol is assisting the Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office in the investigation into the deadly incident.
