Chris Cornell’s Social Media Pages Go Dark
Since his death, the social media accounts for the three bands Chris Cornell was associated with -- Soundgarden, Audioslave and Temple of the Dog -- have been silent. Today, they changed their profile and cover photos to the same images to honor the frontman.
Now, the cover photo is simply a black box and the profile picture is a black-and-white shot of him in concert. This is consistent across both Facebook and Twitter, and is also true for his solo career.

Several of Cornell's former bandmates have penned tributes to him. Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready, who was in Temple of the Dog with Cornell, wrote, "Chris Cornell painted in song the darkness and beauty of life in Seattle. Chris means a lot to me today, as he trusted me to play on Temple. He handed me a dream in actually getting to play on beautiful songs. Informed how I would play on Pearl Jam records in the future, I believe. Gave me the break into the music business I’d wanted since I was 11. He was a friend I will miss. I miss you, brother.”
Brad Wilk of Audioslave and Rage Against the Machine added, “The sadness of you leaving I cannot begin to describe here. So close to home. I was in awe of your talent. The time I was able to spend with you, which was not enough, I will forever cherish. At your core, you were a smart, sweet and gentle soul. This is how I will always remember you. Love you Chris. Hard to believe this picture marks the last time I will ever see you here on earth.”

Yesterday, his widow, Vicky, published an open letter to him in which she wrote, "We had the time of our lives in the last decade and I’m sorry, my sweet love, that I did not see what happened to you that night. I’m sorry you were alone, and I know that was not you, my sweet Christopher. Your children know that too, so you can rest in peace."
Cornell's remains were cremated on Tuesday, and his ashes will be buried tomorrow during a private service at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
