It's finally time we all grow up.

It was reported last week that Toys 'R' Us was preparing to close down all 735 of its U.S. stores nationwide, including the five in Minnesota, and ours right here in Rochester. Well that's about to become reality, because as of today, Business Insider reports Toys 'R' Us has said in a bankruptcy filing Thursday that it must liquidate everything in the next couple weeks.

So what does that mean for it's loyal shoppers? Well it means you can expect some major clearance blowout sales happening much sooner than later. In fact, Toys 'R' Us has already set a an expiration date of 30 days for its gift cards and loyalty-based "rewards dollars" and "endless earnings," the company told Business Insider.

My wife and I have already started brainstorming ideas for what our daughter needs now for toys/accessories, and what we'd all need for when we have our second kid down the road. It's the end of an era and a sad time for sure, but for anyone who's ever shopped there I think we can all agree on one thing - We'll always be a Toys 'R' Us kid!
