Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester Police officer was attacked yesterday by a shoplifting suspect. A spokesman says the officer had been sent to the city’s south Walmart location around 7:15 pm to take possession of some found property and entered the store just as the security staff was trying to detain the woman.

When he heard the commotion, the officer indicated he went to help the loss prevention specialists and the accused shoplifted reacted by punching him in the face and biting one of his hands hard enough to draw blood.

After she was subdued, 28-year-old Bonnie Booth was arrested on a felony assault count and several other charges.
