St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Burnsville man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison in a “sextortion” case.

The U.S. Attorneys Office for Minnesota says 22-year-old Marcus Hinkle was given the sentence for his conviction on two counts of producing child pornography. Court records indicate Hinkle used Instagram and Xbox accounts to communicate with minors and obtain sexually explicit images while representing himself as a 15-year-old.

Federal prosecutors allege over a dozen juvenile boys were victimized by Hinkle, who would pressure them into sending him sexually explicit images and videos and then coerce them to send him additional illicit materials by threatening to post their photos and videos in online group chat rooms. The crimes occurred over a period of three months in the spring and summer of 2017.
