Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The Rochester City Council Monday night sent a request dealing with the Seneca ear of corn water tower back to the city’s Heritage Preservation Commission.

The commission had sent the council a list of properties that are being considered for landmark status which offers some protection from demolition and the tower is among them. But it was determined the commission has the authority to add the properties to a list of potential landmarks without council input.

The council could become involved if there is a challenge of a designation or a need to review a demolition permit involving potential landmark properties.
