Rushford Fire Victims May Face Months of Hospitalization
Rushford, MN (KROC-AM News) -
A GoFundMe page established for the Jared and Erin Cords family indicates 45-year-old Jared and the couple's three young daughters are being treated in the burn unit at Regions Hospital in St. Paul for serious burns. The children, 3-year-old Peyton, 5-year-old Teagan, and 7-year-old Ravyn, are expected to be hospitalized for a number of months. At last report, Jared was listed in fair condition. He is being hailed as a hero for running into the burning home multiple times to save members of his family.
40-year-old Erin Cords, who is pregnant, and the couple's 15-year-old foster son, Dominic, were treated and released after they were taken to a La Crosse hospital following the fire that completely destroyed the family's home. The cause of the blaze, which was reported around 12:30 in the morning on Thursday, has not been determined.
In addition to the GoFundMe effort, donations to assist the family are also been accepted by Rushford State Bank.
