Saturday (March 24) was a big day across America as the March for Our Lives rallies took place in major cities across the country. The March for Our Lives came to fruition due to the desire from students to see some movement toward stricter gun legislation and stronger school safety in the wake of the recent mass shooting at the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., as well as other school shootings.

"Not one more. We cannot allow one more child to be shot at school," reads a portion of the March for Our Lives mission statement. "We cannot allow one more teacher to make a choice to jump in front of a firing assault rifle to save the lives of students. We cannot allow one more family to wait for a call or text that never comes. Our schools are unsafe. Our children and teachers are dying. We must make it our top priority to save these lives."

The primary march was centered in Washington, D.C., while New York also played host to march in which Paul McCartney was one of the attendees. Speaking with CNN, McCartney stated, "One of my best friends was killed in gun violence right around here, so it's important to me," referring to the death of John Lennon.

McCartney was just one of many celebs and musicians lending their support to the march,  either through their own participation or encouraging those who took part. Below you'll find some of the social media commentary about the march from Slash, Paul Stanley, Pearl Jam, Nikki Sixx, Lzzy HalePhil Labonte, Jared LetoSteven Tyler and more.
