A familiar face here in the Med City will be appearing again on national TV, on American Ninja Warrior again Monday night.

Rochester's own Roo Yori is, of course, famous in these parts-- and across the country-- for competing as the K-9 Ninja on NBC's monster hit show, American Ninja Warrior. Since he first burst onto the ANW scene over five years ago, he's been both competing on the show, as well as raising money for his own foundation that helps find forever homes for deserving dogs.

And, even during the ongoing pandemic, Roo is back at it, trying to conquer the always-tough ANW course in an episode that is set to air Monday night (September 14th) on NBC. This time, during the ANW Team Competition, Roo has teamed up with fellow Ninjas Jackson Twait and Cassie Dierks to help raise awareness and funds on adopting both homeless dogs AND cats.

Roo, of course, has already been raising money to help homeless dogs through his amazing Wallace The Pitbull Foundation. And, again this year, Roo and his fellow Ninjas have been raising even MORE money for homeless dogs in need, by soliciting donations from dog-lovers and fans based on how many of the 10 ANW obstacles he successfully conquers on Monday's show. ANW airs Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. on NBC (KTTC here in Rochester.)

Roo was nice enough to drop by the Quick Country studios a few years ago to chat about what it's like being on the show-- check out the video below. And, go get, 'em Roo! We'll be watching, and cheering on, not only one of the best Ninjas out there, but one of the nicest guys, as well!

Listen to Curt St. John from 6 to 10 a.m. on Quick Country 96.5
and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on 103.9 The Doc
