Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota Vikings are keeping Rochester's Marcus Sherels on the roster for the 2018 season.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press is citing sources who say the Vikings and the John Marshall graduate have agreed to a one-year contract to replace a two-year deal that paid Sherels $4 million. The terms of the new deal have not been disclosed.

Sherels will enter his 9th season as a Minnesota Viking coming off a season during which he led the NFL with 39 punt returns. His average return on those punts was 9.5 yards. He also averaged over 24 yards on each of his 11 kick-off returns in 2017.
