Rochester’s Chef Spicolli and Marcus Sherels Help Raise $10K!
Saturday night Chopped Local in Rochester, Minnesota, was a successful fundraiser for Rochester area restaurants hit hard by Covid-19. Planned and presented by Wear Local, it was probably the best smelling, most drool inducing fundraiser in Rochester history.
Raising over $10,000 (according to the Wear Local Facebook page), 4 master chefs and four local celebs paired up and made a three course meal, one course at a time, being judged by three major Rochester foodies.
Who Won Chopped Local?
In the end, the winning team was Chef Spicolli and Marcus Sherels!
The people choice award (voted on Facebook during the live event) went to Bleu Duck Kitchen Chef Erik Kleven and Local Celebrity Megan Kennedy.
Appetizer, entrée, and then desert, the chefs had 30 minutes to discover the food items they had to include, plan the meal, and then complete the cooking. Because time was running short, the desert round was only 20 minutes long.
The desert round included bacon, so, when I say best smelling event, I mean the fundraiser with the best aroma since Baconfest.
