Rochester Twins Fans Brave Weather To Attend Winter Caravan [Photos]
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Minnesota Twins fans braved the snowy weather and slick roads to attend Wednesday evening’s Winter Caravan.
About 400 fans turned out for the event at the Empire Events Center (formerly Kahler Apache).
The event was emceed by Twins radio broadcaster Cory Provus and fans took part in a question and answer program with Hall of Famer Bert Blyleven, outfielder Jake Cave and catcher Ryan Jeffers.
Twins president and CEO Dave St. Peter was scheduled to attend but was involved in a big team event that happened a few hours earlier - the signing of free-agent star Josh Donaldson.
The Twins spring training schedule of games begins Feb. 22 against Pittsburgh. The Twins open the regular season March 26th on the road at Oakland. The teams’ home opener is scheduled April 2nd against Oakland.
