Rochester Teenager Charged in GameStop Robbery, Hammer Attack
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester teenager was arraigned Friday as one of the two suspects who robbed a business Monday night.
Authorities say 18-year-old Jacob Meier has admitted he was the one who hit an employee at the GameStop store on the head with a hammer. The victim suffered a fractured skull.
Olmsted County Attorney Mark Ostrem has filed 1st and 2nd-degree assault and aggravated robbery charges against Meier. His conditional bail has been set at $100,000.
Police Capt. John Sherwin says Meier has a history of assaultive behavior. Court records show Meier was placed on probation three weeks ago after pleading guilty to head-butting a Rochester police officer during an incident in October.
