Rochester Teen Shooting Suspect Caught
Rochester police yesterday arrested a local teenager who has been on the run since a shooting last summer.
Taken into custody on a warrant was 17 year old Aries Candler.
He is suspected of shooting a man near the Perkins north restaurant during what police say was a drug related robbery. Police say Candler and another teenager had met with the victim to buy some marijuana. A fight broke out on the street in the 400 block of 13th avenue northwest and moments later, a shot rang out and the victim was hit in the chin.
Candler and the other teen took off in a car that pulled up during the confrontation. The other teen and another man were later apprehended. Their cases are pending.
Also arrested yesterday was Candler’s suspected girlfriend. The 19 year old is expected to be charged with aiding an offender.
