It's guaranteed to be a day they'll never forget.

Long as I can remember, Opening Day in baseball has always been a favorite benchmark in sports for me. It means winter is finally losing it's grip on us and the boys of summer can finally take the field for another season... although, this year might be different with several inches of snow yet to fall the next 24+hrs! In any case, I've been to seven Opening Days, or opening day series at Target Field, one of which I proposed to my wife and made the evening news in the process. But that's another story.

What I'm excited to share now is that a pair of sisters from Rochester are about to make their own memories at Target Field this weekend, which also happens to be their very first Twins game ever!

According to their mother, Mandy, Mazzy and Kinsey Fricker submitted an adorable video for a Minnesota Twins Kid's Opening Day Contest, and ended up winning!

I found out through the MN Twins Facebook page. To enter we submitted a video essay why they wanted to participate in Kids Opening Day. A total of 57 kids are selected between the ages of 5-12, said Mandy. The girls found out this morning via email they both won... They were speechless and so excited!!

For winning, they'll receive four free tickets to the game on April 8, free player autographs before the game, allowed access to the field and run the bases after the game, and most importantly they get to stand on the field during the National Anthem.

Here's the video that won them the contest:

Too stinkin' cute. Congrats, girls!

If you'd like your family to partake in other Sunday Kids Day's at the park, you can check the schedule and buy your tickets HERE.

The Twins are off to an awesome start this season, taking the opening series against Baltimore 2-1 this past weekend. They play the Pittsburgh Pirates next starting today, and then open at home against the Seattle Mariners at Target Field, with the first pitch at 1:10 p.m.

You can listen to all the action, all season long on our sister station 1340 KROC-AM!
