Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  It looks like Rochester Public Schools Superintendent Michael Munoz will continue working for the district for at least a few more years.

The School Board is scheduled to vote Tuesday on a proposed employment contract extension with Munoz that runs through the 2020-2021 school year.

Munoz is currently working under a one year extension that runs through the end of June. Munoz was hired May 31, 2011.

The extension would increase his annual base salary from the current $212,000 to $228,300 by the third year.

Several benefits are also included in the recommendation.

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the negotiations have resulted in an agreement of a three-year contract with a base annual salary of $217,300 for the 2018-2019 school year; $222,700 for the 2019-2020 school year; and $228,300 for the 2020–2021 school year;

WHEREAS, other compensation: Article III Compensation includes TSA Match and Automobile Allowance; Article IV Duty Year and Leaves of Absence includes Vacation, Holidays, Sick Leave, and Bereavement Leave; Article V Insurance includes Health and Hospitalization and Dental, Life Insurance, Long-Term Disability Insurance, and Liability Insurance.

BE IT RESOLVED that the School Board of Independent School District #535 approve a subsequent contract of employment to Michael Muñoz to serve as the Superintendent of Schools effective July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2021.
