Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester School Board is on the verge of becoming the first local governmental body to return to in-person meetings.

The Rochester School District has announced the School Board will return to a hybrid in-person model next Tuesday. The meeting will continue to be live-streamed, board members will attend in-person if possible. Members of the public will not be allowed to attend and watch the meeting in-person, but there will be a 30-minute public comment period at the beginning of each meeting, which will begin at 5:30 PM.

Those wishing to address the School Board will be asked to wait in the hallway outside the boardroom at the Edison Building until they are individually called to the podium. They are also being urged to call the Superintendent's Office at 507-328-4256 before 3 PM on the day of the meeting to sign up, but walk-ins will be accepted and accommodated if time allows.

Previously established rules for public comments will be followed. In addition, speakers will be asked to clean the podium area with a sanitary wipe when they are finished and exit the boardroom through the door leading to the parking lot.
