Rochester Public Transit has announced it has implemented its “A Warm Place to Be” program.

RPT says this will allow “those who need to escape dangerous weather to board an RPT bus without paying a fare.” RPT says the program will be in effect through Sunday. RPT says anyone “can simply notify an RPT driver that they need to escape the cold and warm up, and no fare will be charged to board the bus.”

Most RPT weekend routes start and end downtown, running in 60-minute intervals. Persons taking advantage of this emergency program should take care not to find themselves stranded a long way from home.
