Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester police have reported the arrest of a 29-year-old man who is accused of terrorizing family members with a large machete.

A spokesperson says officers responded to a residence in the 3400 block of Kenosha Drive Northwest just before noon and were told Harun Ali Abdulle head into the apartment and slashed the sofas a TV with the machete before leaving the residence. Police returned to the same apartment shortly before 3 PM because the family reported Abdulle had been calling and issuing threats towards family members and messaged one of them with instructions to check on their car, which was found with one of its tires slashed in the parking lot.

The police report also indicates the man sent an audio message stating he was going to attack the family with a knife, and while speaking on the phone with one of the responding officers, he said he was going to return and finish the family off. Abdulle was spotted by an officer about two hours later driving on 12th Street Southeast where he was stopped and arrested without incident. A police spokesperson says the machete was found inside the vehicle.

He is now being held on a long list of possible felony charges, including second-degree assault, domestic assault, and multiple counts of burglary.
