Rochester Police Department Prepares For Tuesday’s Safe City Nights

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester Police Department is preparing for its next Safe City Nights event to be held Tuesday.

RPD will be at Ben Franklin Elementary from 6-8pm Tuesday with plenty of activities and food for all to come out and meet your neighbors and RPD team.

This is the fourth Safe City Nights, with two more to follow. According to the City of Rochester’s website, Safe City Nights will be in each of the six wards, and community members are encouraged to attend the corresponding event located in their ward.

This will provide an opportunity to connect with neighbors and law enforcement teammates who patrol their areas. The Mayor and members of the Rochester City Council will also be present during the gatherings.

Rochester Police Department Chief James Franklin said that building that community relationship is very important to RPD.

“RPD believes that community engagement is critical to the success of protecting and serving the Rochester community. The Department believes that it is the responsibility of all to be engaged with the community, not just a select few,” Franklin said. “This includes the Chief, sworn officers, and civilian staff. RPD believes that community engagement is strengthened through strong partnerships that are built through trust, collaboration, and respect. ”
