Rochester Police Continue Investigating Weekend Shooting
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester teenager was shot in the leg and two occupied homes were hit by bullets Saturday afternoon.
Police Captain John Sherwin says the 19 year old has told officers he was talking on his phone in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 500 block of 1400 Street SE around 2:30 p.m. when three males approached and one opened fire. The victim was treated for a non-life threatening injury and Sherwin says he has not been very cooperative with investigators.
Sherwin says it was later learned a bullet entered a nearby residence and came to rest in an empty room. Another bullet was found in the dresser of a residence on 6th avenue. A male adult says he was in bed when he heard the bullet hit the dresser that was in the same room. No injuries were reported.
