Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man has been charged with driving past a school bus as students were getting off - and later crashing into the same bus.

And driving with a canceled driver’s license.

And driving without insurance.
Charged in Olmsted County Court this week was 38-year-old Jesse Foss.

The criminal complaint says the bus had stopped in the 3700 block of Willow Ridge Dr. SW around 4:00 PM on Feb. 26. The driver told police the stop arm was extended and the flashing lights on the bus were activated when she saw a car drive past. The driver continued her route and a short while later spotted the car in a driveway.

The driver stopped to write down the license plate number when the vehicle suddenly crashed into the side of the bus. The bus driver then called 911.

A police officer arrived and identified Foss as the driver of the car. The officer checked and discovered Foss had lost his driver’s license. Foss also admitted he did not have insurance on his vehicle.

He has been ordered to make his first court appearance in May.
