Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - One of the two people who admitted to charges connected to a hallucinogenic mushroom growing was sentenced today.

24-year-old Austin Dahl was given a stayed prison sentence of nearly 5 1/2 years and was placed on probation for five years. He earlier entered a guilty plea to a first-degree drug possession charge through a plea agreement that led to the dismissal of another first-degree drug charge and a charge of illegal possession of a firearm.

His codefendant, 24-year-old Kailyn Felker was scheduled to be sentenced today but her sentencing hearing was pushed back into early November. She earlier admitted to a second-degree drug possession charge and also had a first-degree drug charge and weapons count dismissed.

The couple from Rochester was arrested last September after investigators from the Southeast Minnesota Violent Crime Enforcement Team executed a search warrant at a residence in Chatfield that was occupied by Dahl and Felker. The criminal complaint says the search led to the seizure of 5 pounds of psychedelic mushrooms, various drug paraphernalia, and two shotguns. The court document indicated the entire east bedroom of the house was dedicated to a mushroom grow operation.
