Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man was scheduled to stand trial week on charges stemming from a couple of significant drug busts in the city a few years ago but opted to enter into a plea agreement.

34-year-old Kyle Peterson entered guilty pleas late last week to a first-degree drug sales charge and a gross misdemeanor count for illegal possession of a firearm. Over a half dozen other felony drug charges are being dropped through the deal.

Most of the charges stem from a raid on the home Peterson shared with 30-year-old Jennifer Nou in December 2017. The couple had been previously charged with another drug bust in September of the same year and were free on bail court when court records indicate police seized a little over a pound of cocaine, almost a pound of marijuana, some Ecstasy, prescription pills and $12,000 in cash.

After the couple’s arrest during the first raid, Rochester police reported the seizure of 80 grams of cocaine, 800 grams of pot and quantities of Ecstasy, heroin and other drugs. Nou is currently scheduled to stand trial in early April. The criminal proceedings against the two were delayed for months while the court considered a push by their defense attorneys to have the charges thrown out over the actions of investigators during the execution of a search warrant in the case.

Peterson is scheduled to be sentenced on March 9th.
