Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man was arrested over the weekend for threatening a parking ramp employee - and activating a fire alarm at the site.

Officers were called to the public library parking ramp Saturday afternoon by the booth attendant. The employee told officers he saw the man smoking in the stairwell, which is off-limits for smokers. The employee said he told the man he could not smoke there. The employee said that’s when the man threatened to “stab him in the eye.” The employee went back to the booth to call police and that’s when he heard the fire alarm.

The man was still there when officers arrived and he was arrested. Facing terroristic threats and other charges is 26-year-old Mahamed Abikar, who is described as homeless,

Police later learned he had been ordered to stay away from the parking ramp because of an earlier incident.
