Cresco, IA (KROC-AM News) - Authorities in northern Iowa are reporting the arrest of a Rochester man suspected of stealing catalytic converters.

A statement from the Howard County Sheriff's Office says Tyler Schacherer was arrested last Thursday after deputies were called to a residence near Lime Springs where he was allegedly caught removing the emission control devices from at least one vehicle. Officials say a search warrant was then obtained and executed, which led to the recovery of seven catalytic converters.

Schacherer is facing charges of second-degree possession of stolen property and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
