Rochester Man Admits to First-Degree Sex Abuse Charges

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man is scheduled to be sentenced in October for repeatedly sexually assaulting a young girl.
37-year-old Mark Mitchell entered guilty pleas to two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct in Olmsted County Court on Wednesday. The criminal complaint alleged the abuse began last December and continued for a period of several weeks before police were contacted in early February.
Olmsted County prosecutors previously filed a motion seeking a sentence longer than recommended by state guidelines based on the allegation of multiple assaults on the child. His sentencing hearing has been scheduled for the afternoon of October 22nd.
