Rochester Man Accused of Raping Woman in Her Downtown Apartment
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man is accused of raping a woman inside her apartment last year.
Investigators had to wait several months for DNA test results before charges were filed against 20-year-old Isaiah McDaniel.
The reported rape occurred last November. The woman told police she had put a sign in the lobby of her downtown apartment complex offering several items for sale. She says a strange man came to her apartment to inquire about one of the items. The woman says she closed the door when she went to get the item but the man came inside and raped her.
Police were able to get a tentative ID of McDaniel from the apartment building’s security camera system. The woman later identified him as the one who raped her.
McDaniel was arraigned last week and his bail was set at $100,000. As of Monday, he was still in the Olmsted County jail.
