Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Apparently, dozens of motorists didn’t get the message about the resumption of enforcement in Rochester's residential parking zones.

The city suspended enforcement of residential permit zones in April to allow parking flexibility for essential workers as the COVID pandemic began.

The city announced last week it would resume enforcement Monday.  In three hours, more than 150 warnings had been issued.

The city says “with the phased reopening of downtown business, changes in employer parking rules, and reintroduction of transit service” it has resumed enforcement of all parking-related ordinances.

People living in residential permit zones are eligible for an annual on-street parking permit. The cost is $25 plus a one-time application fee of $6. Temporary permits are also available.
