Rochester City Council Okays COVID-19 Financial Assistance Plan
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester City Council has approved a few measures aimed at mitigating some of the growing coronavirus-related financial burdens businesses and individuals are dealing with.
Among them are two areas of new funding: $250,000 to support the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Team and $100,000 to support the Local Economic Stability Team.
The council also directed staff to work with the RAEDI organization to prioritize and manage $250,000 in existing funds for low-interest loans to impacted businesses.
In addition, businesses will be allowed to pay for city-issued licenses through four installment payments.
The city will also temporarily suspend online or telephone payment convenience fees.
