Rob Zombie Finishes ‘Complex’ New Album, Confirms 2019 Release
Rock icon and master of horror Rob Zombie has officially completed his seventh solo album. Zombie shared the news exclusively with Loudwire, calling the upcoming release “the best record we’ve made.”
Having publicly squashed his 2012 feud with Marilyn Manson, Zombie is currently on the road with the Antichrist Superstar for their second Twins of Evil tour. And besides directing the upcoming film 3 From Hell, Zombie managed to fit a new full-length into his busy schedule, which he confirmed will see a 2019 release.
“The record's done. It'll get out next year, early next year,” Zombie told us. “I think this and so do the guys in the band — I think it's the best record we've made. Parts of it are the heaviest, parts are the weirdest, it's the most complex record we've ever made, but at the same time it's always very catchy and listenable, but it's the most intricately structured record.”
Zombie continues, “I know everybody says, ‘Oh, our new record's the best record. Blah, blah, blah.’ No one gives a shit. I never want to look at things like, ‘Oh, you know, the best shit we did was long ago.’ A lot of bands these days have given up on making records it seems. I don't understand that.”
Speaking about what fans can expect from his next collection of songs, Zombie details, “There are those songs that go in a direction we've never even gone near before. Personally, I like records that are very varied in sound. Not just like, ‘Oh, here's 12 super heavy tracks,’ and they're all the same tempo. I like records that are all over the place. That's why I think my favorite Beatles record was always [1968's] "The White Album," because it was all over the place.”
