Nearly 40 million Americans will travel 50 or more miles from home during the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Don’t let a traffic ticket ruin your good times.

The Minnesota State Patrol, South Dakota Highway Patrol and other law enforcement agencies have teamed up for a joint I-90 safety operation which will run from Friday morning to early Saturday.

The goal of the campaign is to keep motorists safe.

Troopers will be looking for speeders, hazardous moving violations, seat belt use and impaired driving. The operation also includes use of patrol aircraft.

The Joint I-90 Safety Operation will focus on I-90 from the Wyoming border to the Wisconsin border, but troopers will also will be patrolling other state and county roads in the area.
