A listener sent me a Facebook message telling me about her friend Keagan Anthony, from Chatfield. She's pregnant and can't leave the hospital until the baby is born, can you pass the word about what she's going thru?

Of course. Keagan was diagnosed with preeclampsia, which, according to the Mayo Clinic, presents as high blood pressure and signs of damage to organs, most usually liver and kidneys. Everything is normal and good until. boom. Diagnosis.

Left untreated, preeclampsia can lead to serious — even fatal — complications for both you and your baby. If you have preeclampsia, the most effective treatment is delivery of your baby. Even after delivering the baby, it can still take a while for you to get better. (Mayo Clinic)

If it comes too early in the pregnancy to deliver the baby, its extra tough because baby needs more time to grow and mom needs to make sure doesn't stay at risk to the illness. Which is why Keagan is in the hospital, which has, of course, caused some money issues.

I have been diagnosed with Preeclampsia and baby Pierson is not growing very well for me being 31 weeks. Unfortunately, I am being hospitalized for the rest of my pregnancy. The doctors want to keep me pregnant as long as possible, but could be induced anywhere from now, to 37 weeks.

I am now out of work, which means Jamie (boyfriend and Pierson's father) now has to provide for everything, including all of the bills, house payments and car payments until I am able to work again. Anything helps to reduce this stress we are having, but if you cannot donate, keep us in your thoughts and prayers!

If you can help, please do...if you can't, as she says, thoughts and prayers are sure welcome.
