Hurricane Ian made landfall in Florida last Wednesday. At that time, the hurricane was a Category 4 storm with sustained winds of nearly 150 mph. The powerful storm is gone now, but the destruction left behind will take months, if not longer, to clean up.

Fort Myers is where the Minnesota Twins hold their spring training each year. It's also a very affordable destination for anyone looking to escape the winter weather and soak up the sun on the beach.

I've taken my family to Fort Myers Beach several times and my heart sunk when I saw the image above. If you've never been that is "Times Square."

This is the central tourist area on Fort Myers Beach. We would eat, drink, listen to live music, people watch, enjoy ice cream, and shop in this area.
