Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A popular Rochester gym has announced plans to shut down due to COVID-19.

The Rochester Athletic Club will close Wednesday. It currently plans to re-open March 27th but that date may change. A decision on extending the closure will be made by March 25th.

The RAC alerted its hundreds of members about the situation Friday with this statement:

“If the Rochester Public Schools close, we will also close because if we remained open, we will be undoing what the school district implemented and we do not feel that would be prudent. The club would remain closed as long as the schools are closed or when our trusted resources share that it is alright to open. (Minnesota Department of Health, CDC, Mayo Clinic, etc.).”
