Popeyes Coming to Rochester?

Once a year we ask listeners and readers to tell us which restaurant they'd most like to see come to Rochester. Sonic typically gets the most votes - You can see the most recent results below. Popeyes would be my top choice so I got excited when I saw this article on the Post Bulletin's website. Jeff Kiger links a recent real estate purchase in Northwest Rochester to a company that has been involved with other Popeyes locations in Minnesota. He wasn't able to get confirmation but says, "all signs point to yes." Keep your eyes on the area around Walmart north.

In other restaurant news, Victoria's Ristorante & Wine Bar in downtown Rochester was the target of thieves recently when an envelope with tip money was swiped by someone that came in for take-out. The story has a happy ending though as two young men came in shortly after hearing the story and replaced the stolen money with cash that they had earned from their summer jobs.
