Police Surveillance of Suspected Drug Dealer Pays Off
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester Police Department patrol officer conducting surveillance on a suspected drug dealer is credited with the arrests of two people on felony drug sales charges.
Police Captain John Sherwin says the patrol officer was keeping an eye on the residence at 1608 8 1/2 Street Southeast on Friday when a vehicle pulled up and the officer witnessed what appeared to be a drug transaction. The man in the car, 30-year-old Alexander Weets, was pulled over a short time later and was arrested after police caught him in possession of eight ounces of marijuana.
Back at the residence, police decided to move in and raid the home after a second vehicle pulled up and another suspected drug exchange took place. Police found about 50 grams of marijuana and other evidence of drug dealing inside the home when they arrested 22-year-old Quantrell Pena.
