Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A late-night house fire near the Rochester Boys and Girls Club caused damage estimated at more than $100,000.

The fire at 28 11th Ave NE was reported around 10:15 pm Thursday by a passerby who “stated that flames were visible from both sides of the home.”

Rochester Fire Dept. crews discovered a fire in a detached garage at the residence that was extending into the rear of the house.

The two occupants escaped without injury. They told firefighters they “were alerted to the fire after they heard a window break due to the heat of the fire.“

RFD says fire damage was mostly limited to the garage and exterior of the home. Damage to the garage and home is estimated at $80,000 with another $45,000 in contents.

RFD did not say what the cause was.
