Overnight Fire in Kasson Wipes Out Three Businesses
Kasson, MN (KROC-AM News) - An overnight fire in Kasson wiped out a building used by three businesses.
Kasson Police Chief Josh Hanson says the Kasson Fire Department responded to the blaze around 1:45 AM and found the building engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at the scene just south of Highway 14.
Kasson Fire Chief Joe Fitch says most of the roof had already collapsed and the walls were beginning to fall out. No one was inside the building and none of the firefighters involved in responding to the fire were injured.
It took nearly 8 hours for firefighters from Kasson and Dodge Center to extinguish the flames. Chief Hanson says the building housed Bigelow Painting, KA Moe and Associates Accounting, and Deraad Overhead Door.
The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire. An estimate of economic loss caused by the fire is not yet available.
