Who's Wanted In Minnesota's Goodhue and Olmsted Counties This Week?

Fall is officially here, though the heat last week wouldn't give you much of a hint Thanks for checking out the weekly warrant check-in, and thank you to the hard-working deputies that pass these warrants along to me.

These warrants come from the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office and the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office. Each week each office selects warrants based on a variety of criteria.

Charge Explanation - What Is Not Small Amount?

One of the warrants has the following charge: Felony - 5th Degree Drugs Possess Marijuana Not Small Amount. I wondered if that means a HUGE amount, or just slightly more than for personal use? I looked it up, of course

Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree (Minn. Stat. § 152.025) Fifth-degree drug possession includes any of the following:

• possession of any amount of a schedule I, II, III, or IV substance (e.g. cocaine, crack, heroin, marijuana, meth, LSD, vicodin, Xanax), but not including a small amount of marijuana (defined as less than 42.5 grams)
• possession, or attempted possession, of any amount of a controlled substance by means of fraud or deceit

So it means exactly what it says. 'not small amount' is more than 42.5 grams.
