Usually, around this point in the summer, we all start getting a little bit sad knowing that summer is basically halfway over.

Summers in Duluth just go by way too fast and it will be winter before you know it. There is a season in between but it seems like we always skip right over it!

Fall is my favorite season so I usually can't wait for it roll around! I love all the fall things: pumpkin spice, Halloween and being cozy.

How Does The Old Farmer's Almanac Work?

The Old Farmer's Almanac makes longterm weather predictions by region. They have been doing so since 1792 using a formula from the founder, Robert B. Thomas. They've taken this as their foundation and enhanced it over the years.

They look at three main things when it comes to making their predictions: meteorology, climatology and solar science. Some believe in their predictions and others do not.

The Old Farmer's Almanac Makes Fall 2025 Predictions

The Old Farmer's Almanac just released their fall predictions for our region! The upper midwest is looking at a cool and dry fall for the most part. In this case, we will be drier than normal, not just dry on average.

In September, the average temperature will hover a few degrees below normal at about fifty-seven degrees. There will be 'frequent rain, drizzle and some early snow' in the northern part of the region, before warming up later in the month.

What About October's Forecast For Minnesota + Wisconsin?

As for October, we will be a few degrees cooler than usual at about forty-five degrees. Brrrrrr! After this hot summer, that is going to feel very crisp.

We will also see less rain than usual. Instead, expect rain and snow mix before a few sunny and warm days move in middle of the month. That is perfect fall weather if you ask me! We won't talk about winter just yet....
