Today is the day that many bars and restaurants in Minnesota have been waiting for over the last two months. Today is the day that many Minnesota bars and restaurants are able to open up again for indoor dining. However that indoor dining is limited to 50% of overall capacity, and there are also limits as to sitting directly at the bar. Some bars however aren't able to open up today, many Minneapolis-area bars are remaining closed today, as Mayor Frey, according to Fox 9, "announced restrictions prohibiting service across a bar top, to someone sitting or standing on the other side, will be extended as Governor Walz lifts restrictions on indoor dining at bars and restaurants statewide."

This extension of the restrictions hurts many of the bars in Minneapolis, as many are your typical sit at the bar type of places, with few if any tables or booths inside. One of those bars that I follow on social media, and frequent when I get up to the cities is Tony Jaros Rivergarden. Yesterday on social media Jaros' announced that it wasn't opening up like many other bars and restaurants were planning on doing today.

The post from the popular NE Minneapolis bar states:

Well, it looks like we've had the rug pulled out from under us yet again. The Mayor of Minneapolis has decided to keep his order and not allow bar seating, so unfortunately we will not be able to open until he changes his mind. We are extremely disappointed, but we are definitely looking forward to seeing everyone (hopefully soon).

It's unclear when Mayor Frey will lift his bartop service restrictions. It's not clear as to how many of the Minneapolis bars affected by this order have decided to not open.

Tony Jaros' earlier this year decided to offer up its famous 'greenies' mix for the holidays, and it sold out in about an hour.
