Rolling Stone recently released their Top 30 Sports Movies of All Time and...well...it sucks. So, I've put together my own top 5 sports movies of all time list.   On the Rolling Stone list, their Top 5 goes like this:

  1. Hoop Dreams - 1994
  2. Rocky - 1976
  3. The Bad News Bears - 1976
  4. Raging Bull - 1980
  5. Caddyshack - 1980

Now, granted, they are good movies, without a doubt. But a list that puts a movie like  "Blue Chip" with Shaquille O'Neal above "Rudy," or "The Big Lebowski" (Which isn't even a sports movie) above a movie like "Tin Cup," then it's a flawed list.

Below, you'll find my top 5 sports movies of all time. If you've got a favorite, please share.

  • 5

    Rocky

I think the list got this one right. It SHOULD be in anyone's top 5.

  • 4

    Moneyball

I'm not a big baseball fan but I really enjoyed this film. Both Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill were nominated for an Academy Award

  • 3

    The Champ

I saw this movie years ago and was thoroughly impressed with a very young Ricky Schroeder's acting chops. Plus, you throw in Jon Voight, you've got a winner.

  • 2

    Remember The Titans

How do you put together a list of the top 30 sports films OF ALL TIME and NOT include Remember the Titans!?!

  • 1

    We Are Marshall

Another great movie. I was not a fan of Matthew Mcconaughey until I saw this movie. This is a phenomenal movie.

  • Honorable Mention

Of course there has to be an honorable mention. So, I have to include:

    • Rudy
    • The Rookie
    • Kingpin
    • Sea Biscuit
