Traffic is the worst – it’s definitely not fun in the Twin Cities during rush hour. In order to avoid it, sometimes you have to get creative. When I lived in the cities, I’d try to find as many back routes as possible, or I’d just avoid driving around 5PM like the plague.

There’s one lady, however, that really went the extra mile to avoid being on the highway all day. Sadly, it didn’t work out for her in the long-term.

Recently, a woman driving in the MnPass lane was pulled over by a Minnesota State Trooper for a potential violation. Not only did she not have the special transponder in her car (I’ll be honest, I have no idea what that would be), but she didn’t have an extra passenger with her, which you need to drive in the car pool lane.

The woman argued to the trooper that her two-year-old child was in the backseat. She had a ‘Baby On Board’ sticker on her back window, after all. Unfortunately for her, the trooper immediately noticed that her “baby” was actually a doll wrapped up in blankets and placed in an infant car seat.

She was cited and given a $186 fine.

I’ll be honest – that’s pretty funny. I mean, props for the dedication and creativity. But ya know, maybe not worth coughing up that hefty fine.
