Minnesota Man Told To ‘Go To Kwik Trip’ After Calling 911
A dispatcher from Chisago County Minnesota is being recognized after that county's sheriff's department shared details from a recent 911 call online. FYI, Chisago County sits on the Minnesota, Wisconsin border just to the northeast of Minneapolis.
The dispatcher received a call in the early morning hours, around 3:00 AM, from a man that was very upset. Had he been in a bad car accident? Nope. Had his house been burglarized? Nope. Those are both valid reasons to call the emergency line. This story is going viral because of the ridiculous reason the man chose to call for help.
Two days ago, the Chisago County Sheriff's Department posted to Facebook to acknowledge the recent 911 call and hundreds of people have commented online.
Most people couldn't believe the reason for the 911 call, but others have theories.
The Chisago County Sheriff's Department didn't post a lot of details (read what they shared below) so we're not sure if they actually sent a deputy to check on him.
We do know what the dispatcher said and we can probably assume what they wanted to say when this guy called 911.
The unnamed man called 911 because.... the local Holiday Convenience Store was closed.
Are you freakin' serious?!? You're calling 911 because Holiday is closed?
I imagine the dispatcher wanted to go off on this guy. But, dispatchers are professionals and this one handled the situation with class by simply telling the person "just go to Kwik Trip."

Dispatchers have to be on all of the time. On any given night they might have to guide someone to safety, talk someone out of doing something bad, or help rescue squads navigate to the scene of a crime or crash. Please don't waste their time!
